Sustainability

One pair of earrings = One Tree

Looking after our environment has always been close to my heart, and I am always striving to do better when it comes to being environmentally aware, personally and in my business operations.

I made the decision to partner with One Tree Planted, which enables me to donate on a recurring basis to help plant one tree for every pair of earrings sold through my online shop.

After lots of research, I felt that supporting One Tree Planted was a cost effective and achievable project, where anyone can help to plant a tree and feel good about helping the world we live in, in a positive way.

One Tree Planted is a US based, non-for-profit organisation that plants ONE TREE for every $1 US. They focus their energy on areas of the world that need help with reforestation the most, even Australia has been on the receiving end, after our tragic bushfires of recent times.

Sustainable packaging

In 2020 I made the move to 100% eco-friendly packaging and marketing material for my business.

All of the materials used for the packaging of my orders can be reused, recycled or composted to help our planet...

  • 100% recycled / recyclable cardboard jewellery boxes (with foil printed logo)
  • 100% recycled / recyclable card used for marketing material
  • Compostable tissue paper
  • Compostable bubble mailers
  • 100% recycled / recyclable cardboard mailer boxes and satchels

There is always more I can do, but I feel that this is a good step in the right direction.

Sustainable Studio Practices

In my studio I am also trying new things to help lessen my footprint on the environment. I have been using an eco-pickle (solution used to clean metal after soldering) instead of harsh traditional cleaning solutions and it has been working just as well.

All plastic packaging I receive from suppliers is recycled through my home recycling bins or the REDcycle plastic collection bins in my area.

As I have a home studio, my studio is predominantly run using solar power generated from our recently updated home solar system.
